In my book 'The Graveyard Book' there is someone called Jack who killed a whole family except for a baby. This little vulnerable baby crawled and went to the graveyard for some reason that we do not know yet. And we still do not know why the man Jack killed the family except this baby. Anyway when this baby reached the graveyard there were some old people who had been buried in that graveyard a long time ago. Mr. and Mrs. Owens were talking when they saw the baby coming from the fog, like a misty shadow. When he reached them a woman arised and said them to protect her son, actually she asked them to protect. Mr. and Mrs. Owens accepted after Mrs. Owens said that she had always wanted a baby when she was alive and that baby could be another chance to have a baby. They both knew growing a baby up would be hard, but they chose to try. Silas, a man who leaves the graveyard became the baby's guardian and he promised them to find food for the baby. The mother saw them promising and she was happy because she knew her baby would be protected even if it was a graveyard. Anyway, the baby needed a name, so they named him as "Nobody Owens" (shortened form is Bod) because he was like nobody but himself. After that days passed fast and Bod become a child. He became curious about the world, the world around the graveyard, around him. He asked questions to Silas, his guardian, and he started learning the alphabet that normal people use. One day while he was learning a girl appeared and they started to play games. This girl was Scarlett. Her mother and gather were teachers and they thought that Scarlett was having fun with her imaginary friend which is normal was those days at the age of five. One day Bod was showing Scarlett the graveyard, they went down into a hill and met someone called "The Sleer" they both didn't know if it was imaginary or not. They came back with dust all over their bodies and saw that Scarlett's family and police were searching her everywhere. After that day Scarlett came once to say good bye because her family didn't want her to see Bod again, they wanted to protect Scarlett. And Scarlet said to Bod that he was her best friend, he was brave, he was the bravest person Scarlett had ever known and it didn't matter if Bod was imaginary or not. These are some events that I read recently in my book. I enjoyed my book and I hope you will enjoy it too.
I chose this song because the rhythm of the violin leads you into the music. And I think Bod and Scarlett's emotions are leading them to the mysterious events. And Scarlett's mother and father did not want their daughter to see Bod again so this song symbolizes the melancholic events that happened in my book. And I think this song symbolizes the fear of unknown because the piano was played once or twice but it was very strong and emotional. And they went down the hill and met "The Sleer", they were unknown to them and Bod and Scarlett were scared, went they came back their clothes were covered with dust and a great deal of hope. I think this song gives you courage to think and feel better. And I think Bod will not forget Scarlett and they will meet soon no matter what their family say. In my opinion this beautiful slow song matches well with my novel "The Graveyard Book" and I enjoyed it, I hope you will enjoy it too!
Ege Su, your style of narration is very good, I always love your writings. This time, I really loved the way you narrate the story's summary, again. Your langugage is also very strong and also, easy to understand. And, I appreciate you in a point. It is very kind of you to write like 600-700 words for your first blog, it is something good shows that you are sincere and hard-working. :) In addition, the song you put there is something that I've known before, and something that I've liked the melody and all parts of it since I've heard it. But, with the connection you've made with our book, made me to think twice, and made me to be more significant with the song. Once again, I loved your blog and your post so far. We're reading the same book, maybe that is why I liked your post this much. :) Finally, I want to ask you something, do you believe that Bod is imaginary? There are many indications in the book that he may be and there are also many indications that he may not be. I feel very confused and I wondered if yo feel the same way, too. :)
